"No cost*" and "Students get Office 2016 at no cost*" – Where is the * explained? Should be on the same page or at least connected with a hyperlink...

Hi Tijs, good point. The eligibility requirement is explained in the eligibility tab above, but the asterisk should be made more visible. Thank you for your suggestion.

Buyer Beware and do your research. Win 10 Education is NOT a version of windows intended for students on a budget. Win 10 Education is a version of windows that is intended for use in EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. This is why this version of windows comes with features found in the pro/enterprise versions of Windows. The BIGGEST issue is that you need to use your institutional MS Login to login to windows or to use a local account. If you have an existing MS account you want to login with and migrate some data / account settings or affiliations you are out of luck. There are also some features the home user may miss... Cortana is deactivated. It's hard to confirm this but I believe the institution may also be able to grant / deny access to certain functionality as well. When you wish to migrate back to win 10 then a clean installation of Win 10 Home / Pro is required.. Yes... you will have to wipe your existing installation completely and begin from scratch. If some of these conditions had been present on the sales page it would have saved me from ordering this version, which is completely useless for my purposes.

Hi Steven, Windows 10 Education is not intended specifically for educational institutions, and can be used on your personal computer just like Home or Pro. The only difference is that Windows 10 Education is available to students at no cost. Once downloaded, you do not need to use your institutional credentials to activate or login to Windows 10 Education. In fact, we advise against it! Using your person Microsoft login is much easier. Also, Cortana has been available in Windows 10 Education since the October 2017 Creators Update (1703). Finally, your institution can not control your access to features available in Windows 10 Education. And once installed, Windows 10 Education is available even after you graduate. No migration or clean install necessary.
