These are both video-editing applications, but with very different purposes. Because of the scope of these programs, we’ll only deal with their absolute basic uses. Premiere Pro is a video-editing application used by professionals across the world. It’s even used in the production of major Hollywood films, such as Deadpool.
Despite its capabilities, Premiere Pro is a fairly easy program to use. With it, you can splice video and audio clips together and apply filters to make your films run smoothly. There is much more to the program than this, but those are the absolute basics.
After Effects
After Effects is a significantly more complex program with many uses. It lets you create titles, apply a variety of special effects, and utilize its built-in simulation effects. It’s also capable of animation, though that isn’t its primary use. This is definitely not an exhaustive list of the application’s capabilities, but it’s a start.
